Aug. 5, 2017, Washington, D.C. – Playing together as doubles partners for the first time, Eugenie Bouchard (CAN) and Sloane Stephens (USA) surprised even themselves by reaching the 2017 Citi Open women’s doubles final.
Unfortunately, they lost to the more experienced team of Shuko Aoyama (JPN) and Renata Voracova (CZE).
The second-seeded winners took just 59 minutes to win in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.
