The Vatanika Spring 2017 woman has no interest in sunbathing by the pool or on the sand far away from the ocean: she doesn’t mind diving right into the water or dripping with perspiration as the UV rays sear into her skin. At the same time, she doesn’t shy away from sensuality, with shimmer galore and gold chains snaking down the silhouettes of slinky gowns. Pinstripes normally found in business suits make their way into oversized dresses with thigh-high slits. However, other pieces can’t decide whether to pose as eveningwear or nightwear – lingerie or mini dress? asymmetric white coat or bathrobe? – in effect, decreasing the glam factor of the overall collection.
