Label: YOHANIX (요하닉스)
Designer: Kim Tae-geun (김태근)
Our take: In one of the best streetwear offerings of the Spring/Summer 2017 collections in Seoul, YOHANIX offered plenty of attitude, rebellion and leather (designer Kim’s specialty). The docile need not attempt to pull of these sullen “Suicide Squad”-inspired pieces for spring, particularly when accessories in the form of baseball bats are involved. Several highlights included a liberal use of military themes – camouflage was a huge trend this season, with YOHANIX excelling in its execution more than most – and a cape resembling a pair of fallen angel’s wings. The rapper BewhY raised the stakes and the house with a two-song set, simultaneously promoting a fashion collaboration among him, the label and the athletic footwear company K-Swiss.
