Lie Sangbong’s incredible “Oriental Ink” Fall 2015 collection is currently available in his New York City boutique, which opened earlier this year just before Fashion Week. A versatile collection, Lie’s trademark unique graphics – this time one reminiscent of butterfly wings – appear all over the classic trench (US$1,300), slim cut pants, dresses, and a long, reversible sleeveless vest. Also available to purchase, to pair with the graphic pieces, are beautifully made black and tan basics (a pleated skirt, wide wool and leather trousers).
The company’s more casual line, LIE, designed by his son Lee Chung Chung, is also available.
There is an art gallery located towards the back of the store called Blank Space. This month, the rotating exhibit features art by Arno Elias, “The Lost Series,” which are comprised of painted photographs of African animals and people.
The LIE SANGBONG boutique is located at 30 Gansevoort St, New York, N.Y., 10014. For more information, call +1 212-924-2025.
