Every year in Washington, D.C., four men’s college basketball teams play in a charity exhibition doubleheader at the Verizon Center. At the 2014 BB&T Classic, those teams were Georgetown, Towson, George Washington and UNC-Charlotte. (The Hoyas crushed Towson, 78-46, in a well-attended blowout, whereas a handful of GW alumni watched a more evenly matched duel against UNC-Charlotte, which George Washington won, 78-70.)
Photos from Georgetown’s victory, in which the Hoyas were never behind and led by as many as 35 points in the middle of the second half, follow below. Also included is a video clip of post-game press conference excerpts, with some comments from head coach John Thompson III.
