Erin Fetherston’s Spring 2015 collection for her eponymous label ERIN erin fetherston is perfect for the girly girl who has grown up but has never lost her love of lace, and romantic floral and butterfly prints – except that lace is now sheer and those prints appear on sleek neoprene.
Optimistic and feminine, the collection was inspired by Fetherston’s love of gardens. Lush wild roses climbed up the sides and bodice of a white sleeveless neoprene dress with a full skirt, as well as along the hem of an ankle-length neoprene pencil skirt paired with a matching white sleeveless crop top. Despite the fact that crop tops made multiple appearances throughout the collection, there was a polite restraint throughout that prevented the outfits from appearing overtly trendy and vulgar. Thoughtful tailoring gave the clothes a classic sophistication, as seen in a crisp, sheer black buttondown shirt dress with mini daisy cutouts resembling eyelet.
One outfit summarized the entire collection best – wearing an edgy gold headband with pearls protruding like the thorns of a rosebush, a model walked down the runway with a black cropped terry pullover printed with the words, “Charmed, I’m sure,” and black satin high-waisted shorts. Yes, we were charmed indeed by Fetherston’s entire collection.
