The Shiroma Fall 2014 collection incorporated a lot of foil material and prints, as well as unusual draping. The reason for this was hinted at in the collection’s title, “Sacred Lizard,” but in fact this “lizard” is actually a dinosaur. Therefore, the shiny, fabric used throughout intended to resemble a dinosaur’s skin. In fact, one standout piece – a dramatic black coat displayed on the mannequin at the label’s exhibition during Tokyo Fashion Week – was shaped like a silhouette of a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Jackets and coats that appeared to have two layers actually had just one, with the lapel of one type of material sewn along a contrasting main piece.
