Before the 2013-14 pro hockey season, NHL rookies take the ice in Toronto

The National Hockey League season is well under way, but during the summer, a number of rookies and young players exhibited their skills at the 2013 NHLPA Rookie Showcase at the MasterCard Centre in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada, for a series of photo shoots for Upper Deck and Panini official trading cards; memorabilia autograph sessions; modeling for video games and other activities.

Players featured in our photos from the Rookie Showcase include Brendan Gallagher (Montreal Canadiens), Christian Thomas (Montreal), Dylan McIlrath (New York Rangers), Danny Kristo (New York), Cory Conacher (Ottawa Senators), Jon Merrill (New Jersey), Malcolm Subban (Boston Bruins), Mikhail Grigorenko (Buffalo Sabres), Matt Puempel (Ottawa), Nathan MacKinnon (Colorado Avalanche) and Petr Mrazek (Detroit Red Wings).
