Tennis: Del Potro wins 2013 Citi Open

Entering the tournament as a wild card, top seed Juan Martin del Potro captured his third title in Washington, D.C. – and first since 2009, the year of his lone major championship – with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 win over John Isner. Despite earning a bye in the first round, the former U.S. Open champion had to defeat a lineup of difficult opponents prior to facing Isner: Ryan Harrison, Bernard Tomic, Kevin Anderson, and last year’s Citi Open runner-up Tommy Haas.
