Max Azria didn’t overturn his successful formula of simply cut, colorblocked frocks for his latest Fall/Winter collection. His procession of dresses and jumpsuits was a study of contrasts, consisting of pleats against sheer materials in bold hues of lowered-value colors. The less the colors contrasted, the better; the collection succeeded when at its most subtle. The best example of this aesthetic was a black mixed material trenchcoat with a contrasting navy blue panel running down the back.
