A flurry of activity occurs within the last couple of hours leading up to a runway show. Models are primped and prepped, public relations representatives and volunteers are ironing out the details, and signs with instructions abound on how the clothes should be worn and handled. For Y & Kei’s Fall 2007 show, the aim for the models’ hair was a “sleek” look, while the make-up was overheard as a “bronze, bronze, bronze.”
A poster of Polaroid headshots of the models walking in the show. Some of the models’ first names are followed by their agency names in parentheses. Six of the headshots are marked by the name “Vera,” alerting make-up artists and hairstylists that these models were walking in the 2 p.m. Vera Wang directly before the 3 p.m. Y & Kei show and would be rushing backstage afterward.
