The mood was light and the clothes radiant at the debut of Loris Diran’s Fall/Winter 2006-2007 menswear collection at Parker, a New York City boutique. A mob of attendees, including former “America’s Next Top Model” judge Nole Marin and fashionista Patrick McDonald, ogled over Diran’s coats, jackets and suits in warm tones of gold, brown and black.
“Basically, I designed the wardrobe that I would wear,” said Diran, who previously worked for Versace, Anne Klein and Chanel.
When asked to highlight which pieces of the collection were his favorites, Diran didn’t hesitate. He chose a long black, handmade alpaca pleat-back coat that he described as “ultimate in bringing back the vintage look, but in a new way,” and an oatmeal tweed, half-belted jacket.
“So dandy, yet so masculine,” Diran said.
