Bryant Park – Ashish N Soni garnered the distinction of being the first-ever Indian designer to show at New York Fashion Week last year. His goal with the Spring 2007 collection was to present “an easily adaptable urban wardrobe, inspired from the work of Viennese artists, at the turn of the century.” Unfortunately, most of the clothing was a bit too heavy and managed to hide the figure rather than flatter it. Even when light colors were used, the clothes sagged and became somber instead of stylish.
