Label: pushBUTTON (푸시버튼)
Designer: Park Seung-gun (박승건)
Spring/Summer 2017 collection title: “Ready-Made”
Our take: A kinder, gentler pushBUTTON? On the surface, it may seem that way with an inclination towards solids – veering away from the fuzzy faux fur and houndstooth patterns of past seasons – and loose-fitting attire (sometimes too much so, particularly with the few evening gowns in this Spring 2017 collection). But these elements may have been a deceptive facade, especially given one of the most discussed aspects of the show: the male models wearing high heels. While the lines may have blurred more than ever in unisex Seoul Fashion Week collections across the board this season, pushBUTTON designer Park Seung-gun made it clear in a statement that it was nothing more than how “women wear high heels wanting to look tall and well proportioned. I thought the same goes for men.”
