Like a fluffy puff overloaded with baby powder, designer Jérôme LaMaar’s signature whimsy is clapped liberally over his Spring/Summer 2016 collection, transforming conventional cuts and demure silhouettes into trippy visions.
Jeans are festooned into a fourth dimension of paillettes and string. Coats are slashed at the shoulder blades. A line of grommets exposes the torso and hipline of a simple cream sleeveless dress.
These are clothes that scream for attention. Sadly, closer inspection disappoints: the cheap fabrics and slapdash embellishment threaten to fall apart before the sweet cloud dissipates.
