Red carpet: “The Adderall Diaries”

“The Adderall Diaries” made its world premiere at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival on Apr. 16, 2015. Directed by Pamela Romanowsky, the film is an adaptation of Stephen Elliott’s memoir, which unveils his investigation into a murder case while battling an addiction to Adderall. Several actors from the film made appearances on the red carpet, including Cynthia Nixon, Ed Harris, Amber Heard, James Franco (who stars as Elliott) and Christian Slater.

Slater, who plays the role of murder suspect Hans Reiser, provided his thoughts to reporters on his colleague Franco. “Working with James was amazing. He is phenomenally talented and certainly one of the busiest guys on the planet. We would shoot a long scene and then he would leave to go do [the Broadway revival] “Of Mice and Men.””

Slater also recounted a meeting with Franco the same day of the red carpet. “We were doing a photo shoot today. He was sitting there, I just got there and I was starting to say hello, and he was like, ‘Oh, let me just finish my French lesson.’ He was doing French on his phone. I think he’s just that kind of person that constantly needs to be doing…doing. It’s unreal. Unreal.”
