Retro California cool permeated Yigal Azrouël’s Spring 2015 collection from the first outfit he sent down the runway. Wearing a black piped ivory fil coupe jumpsuit appliquéd with large 3D palm leaves, the model exuded relaxed sophistication, a chill vibe inspired by early surf culture.
This sporty-luxe look was reinforced throughout the collection via details such as bomber jacket-inspired cuffs and collars, large embroidered palm trees on the backs of silky pieces, and subtle scalloped cutouts. A boxy cropped short-sleeve jacket with an overblown garnet and sky blue palm print was paired with matching billowing wide-legged trousers, creating a look that epitomized leisurewear.
Also notable was the actual appearance of a bomber jacket in olive green with four scalloped cutouts on its front, worn with a pair of sharply pleated ankle length trousers in the same shade – an interesting take on Spring’s military trend.
