The 2007 Miss New York Chinese Pageant court met the press, sponsors and various guests at a celebration party on Aug. 14 at East Buffet Restaurant in Flushing.
Unlike last year’s pageant, when 2006 winner Sirena Wang and 1st runner-up Maggie Weng combined to capture seven out of a possible 11 titles, this year’s court was evenly divided with Stacy Wang being the only contestant to win more than one title (Miss New York Chinese 2007 and Miss Popularity). The results from the 2007 pageant, held Aug. 5 at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut, follow:
Miss New York Chinese: Stacy Wang (No. 6)
1st Runner-up: Allison Chen (No. 12)
2nd Runner-up: Louise Lau (No. 7)
Miss Congeniality: Anni Liang (No. 1)
Miss Photogenic: MinMing Jiang (No. 5)
Best Dress: Elaine Lu (No. 9)
Miss Best Talent: Cisy Liang (No. 3)
Miss Popularity: Stacy Wang (No. 6)
Miss Internet Popularity: Yancy Yu (No. 4)

A dancer and television hostess, she graduated from Stuyvesant High School and will head to Carnegie Mellon University in the fall. First runner-up Chen, 22, is a double major in accounting and finance at the University of Maryland at College Park, and was a prizewinner at the 2006 Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant.
